German WW1 Photo Album

Found this today tucked away in the corner of a for sale box of stuff. It measures a weeny 95mm by 85mm.

The photos measure a weeny teeny 55mm by 40mm and are as clear as a bell

This is our hero

Here he is on the left

Again, second from the left in a trench smoking fags competition

[Spasm]

And again, 4th from left in the final of the trench warfare pipe smoking competition.

And here's the officer, obviously very relieved that the smoking competitions are over and gets to keep the cannabis growing on each side of his dugout. (Note that this bloke is either very big or his revolver is very small).

Unfortunately no, there's no clue to numbers anywhere

Had another look through the album and removed all the photos to look at the backs. All of them had numbers only (I assume the photographer's referencing) other than this one. The picture is a pretty bland landscape of earth with little or no detail with this on the reverse. Can anyone help with a translation?

All i can say is, if they were heavy smokers, they wil all be dead by now!
