Noor Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Hi all, I just picked up randomly a Soviet Army booklet from post WW2 period (1947). First I just wanted just to look at it and hand it back on the antique shop to try to read Russian because it is language what I have almost forgot. Anyway, what catch my eyes and why I bought it asap was his nationality.... how many Soviet Army passes to Swedish you have seen? Regards, Noor
JapanX Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 (edited) how many Soviet Army passes to Swedish you have seen? Well, everyone who was on annexated territories after the end of WWII (with age within call up range) got one of this. In a matter of seconds they became brave soldiers of "invinicible red army" or its reservists. Even Germans! Cheers, Nick Edited June 23, 2012 by JapanX
Noor Posted July 3, 2012 Author Posted July 3, 2012 Hi Nick, Yes, you are right. I have seen booklets what has been issued to many small nationalities. Just never spot any Swede, because Red Army wasn´t there. However, village where he lived had before the war some Swedish population and thats how one of these passes was issued to him as well. Poor guy didn´t even spoke Russian. In the matter of fact, during my travels, I will be visiting his village coming weeks in Estonia as well. Regards, Noor
