Aurora Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 (edited) Hi guys, not only Japanese and "Chinese" orders & medals! Yamamoto and Tojo wear an insigna of a Knight Gran Cross of the Crown ( Kingdom of Italy) and Orders of the German Eagle. In your post # 70 he wears a Romanian Order of the Crown... without swords!!! He is not a civilian ...awarded for diplomatic purposes?! Aurora Edited August 7, 2012 by Aurora

Aurora Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Yes, you are right, can we consider them for diplomatic purposes !? He is not a civilian...
JapanX Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 (edited) Possible answers His Crown has no swords because he got it before 1938 (the year when military division of the order was introduced) His Deutschen Adler has no swords because he got it before April 1939 (when version with swords was introduced) Cheers, Nick Edited August 7, 2012 by JapanX
JapanX Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 Take a look at this warrior in a gorgeous earflapped fur hat
922F Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 (edited) Nick, Thank you for these Wonderful images reflecting a devoted and sincere "labor of love". Believe the first award on bar in post #57 & #58 is a Chile Order of Merit officer--note the condor bird suspension, rosette and apparent female head in the center medallion. The rare piece shown in posts #59 and #60 this thread lacks a suspension 'bird' and the central medallion detail appears different than #57/#58. Edited August 10, 2012 by 922F

Quite exotic medal bar for Japanese Admiral Unfortunately I don't have a picture of Hokkaido award suspension ... Regards, Nick
JapanX Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 Very interesting photo (take a good look at his uniform and cockade ) Lower class kite (6th or 7th class) together with higher japanese and manchu orders.
JapanX Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 Another very interesting photo. It is the second time we see both Pillars and Clouds This time it is 3rd class Pillars and 4th class Clouds.
JapanX Posted November 2, 2012 Author Posted November 2, 2012 What we have here is the cavalier of National Shrine Foundation Commemorative Medal. You don`t see these very often
JapanX Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 Well, I think we have another cavalier of "Shrine Foundation" medal
JapanX Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 ... and another cavalier of Manchu Order... And of course this order will be Auspicious Clouds...
JapanX Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 Take a look at ribbon bar of this unknown Army General... Impressive isn't it?
JapanX Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 What we have here is Auspicious Clouds (most likely 2nd or 3rd class), Manchu Foundation Medal, National Shrine Foundation Commemorative Medal and (very likely) Manchu Census Medal and Manchu Red Cross Medal.
JapanX Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 Nanjing Government Order of United Glory
