TacHel
I'm just trying to picture the incredibly steep bleacher that was required for such a photo... Imagine if a few of the guys at top lost their footing?

TacHel
Hmmm... Another riddle... I wonder what are you hinting at. Aha! The picture will be ruined? And 1/2 the battalion will end up on sick parade... Those that make it anyway. Edited September 11, 2012 by TacHel

The Prussian
Fantastic picture! By the way. Do you know a book in european letters, which shows the uniforms and the shoulder straps of the russian army? Info: The Life-guard Kexholmski regiment served with the life-guard regiments Litowski, St.Petersburgski and Wolynski in the 3.Guard-Division (XXIII.corps) in Warsaw
JapanX
Fantastic picture! By the way. Do you know a book in european letters, which shows the uniforms and the shoulder straps of the russian army? "In european letters" What are these? Do you mean non-russian sources? Unfortunately I don't know a comprehensive book that would cover uniform and shoulder straps of the russian imperial army. In russian you might try these Famous "Shenk tables" В.К.Шенк. Таблицы формъ обмундированiя Русской Армии.С.-Петербургъ. 1910г. В.К.Шенк. Таблицы формъ обмундированiя Русской Армии.С.-Петербургъ. 1911г. Also very useful sources (from the same author) Шенк В.К.
JapanX
For early history of russian uniform see famous "Historical description of uniform and arms of Russian Army" in 19 volumes that was published in 1841 — 1862. All 19 volumes can be downloaded here (1899 edition) http://www.runivers.ru/lib/book3096/9740/
The Prussian
Well, I have a lot of those russian uniform books on pdf, but I can´t read them... What I´m looking for, is a book, which describes their uniforms and the shoulder straps during the period of the russian-japanese war until 1919.
