peter monahan
Pretty! Shiny! "What has it got in its pocketses, precious?" Quite a classy group to have come from our socialist brethren. Edited September 25, 2012 by peter monahan

TacHel
The set is unfortunately quite incomplete... A veteran's badge usually means 25 years of service meaning we're missing 3 long service medals (1st, 2nd and 3rd class). The "Medal for Valour" is quite interesting though! Odd that no other breast badge was present... Just out of curiosity, how much did these fetch?

Probably they came with the main dish as free bonus Who needs them anyway The "Medal for Valour" is quite interesting though! Definitely not your usual ministry medal made by souvenir shop Just out of curiosity, how much did these fetch? As far as I remember this set was sold for $300 or $400. Specially for the old grumbler`s http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/55725-nice-group-for-fsin-federal-service-of-punishment-execution-officer/ This one was sold recently for $

Yikes! Except for the Valour medal, the other 2 are borderline worthless... And the medal isn't worth that much, maybe $125, $150 on a good day. For that auction to hit $300+, there must've been 2 or 3 individuals fighting it out who lost track...

Megan
Thank you. Passed through there one, but during the last few years of communism. Baffled the poor dears by speaking only a little Russian but addressing everyone correctly by rank! There were 2 army officers, one who had got rather drunk and fell over on top of me. His friend explained about how he was scared of flying so was getting some alcohol in him... this conversation ended up with dearly beloved getting some vodka from the bottle under the counter... Paul R
Can these awards be researched or are they so recent that privacy of the awardee is a concern?
JapanX
Can these awards be researched or are they so recent that privacy of the awardee is a concern? Nope, since these are departmental awards.
