MSWilhelmGustloff Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Hello to all members, I just wanted to post some information about my museum site featuring the KdF liners Wilhelm Gustloff & Robert Ley. There are currently 30 albums, over 3,000 photos, over 200 speisekarten (or menus) and much more! I also have photographs from the Aviso Grille, Robert Ley, several other KdF cruise liners, ships of the Kriegamarine, and photo albums from uboats - specifically the U708, U62, and U841. I have recently found this site and quite enjoy reading the threads that keep history alive. Regards, Eddie Wilhelm Gustloff Museum www.wilhelmgustloffmuseum.com
Paul R Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 That is an amazing website. How long did it take you to accumilate all of those photos and artifacts?
MSWilhelmGustloff Posted December 27, 2012 Author Posted December 27, 2012 That is an amazing website. How long did it take you to accumilate all of those photos and artifacts? I began collecting in 2007, so only a few years.
922F Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Excellent presentation with much heretofore unpublished [& unknown/unobtainable] documentation. Sincere congratulations on a magnificent work.
MSWilhelmGustloff Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 While I am still researching them, my newest acquisitions are under the Sinking & Wreck page at the top. Two original boarding passes from the Gustloff's last voyage - January 31st, 1945. The full story can be read there as well.
MSWilhelmGustloff Posted January 31, 2013 Author Posted January 31, 2013 Exactly 68 years ago to the minute (running on Eastern time) the Wilhelm Gustloff sank beneath the waves in the Baltic Sea nearly killing 10,000 people.
