nzef1940 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 (edited) Greetings all This is either a strange fake (one that I have not seen before) or a 30's German made example?? Help please, It is from an old New Zealand collection. Thanks in advance. Edited February 4, 2013 by nzef1940
demir Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Dear Nzef1940, Actually this is the big question, going back to the old argument, what is fake, old, strange etc.? If it is made today or 70's it is a fake, a replica copy, but if it is made in 30's it is a German or Austrian made copy or example. This is the main problem. But I don't want to get into this subject again now. There are more knowledgeable friends in this Forum who know foreign made TWMs better then me , I am sure they will contribute to this thread. IMO the catch resembles the Ludenscheid companies but it is not S&L or E.S. because the hinge is different. It may be from 30's and German made but not a new one because new ones usually has a hook catch. Regards Demir
TerryG Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Merhaba Demir Bey You are far too modest about your own knowledge! As far as that Star is concerned, the rear set up does look convincing but the front....Is that painted? Can we have better/closer shots please? Terry
avsaribar Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 This is a later period made example ! It is not made today , probably 60 - 70 'ss ... Maybe not fake for some collectors ... or a definite fake for some , whom taught it is because a later made example ...
demir Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Hi, Can we identify the maker of this screw-back TWM. Thanks
