achern
Gents, I came across this example of a US Air Force (USAF) Medal of Honor, in a case with a ribbon bar. The set is probably not complete. Could anyone be so kind as to give me some feedback on whether you think this is a genuine example of the MoH? There have been so many reproductions in recent years that it is very hard for me to tell without actually having seen on in person before. Thank you. JBFloyd
The back-door Air Force Medals of Honor were not maker-marked, so it is likely that this genuine piece leaked out of Air Force supply channels somewhere.
Paul R
So are the prices on these a secret?
Garth Thompson
Paul, I think these fetch in the $1200 to $1500 range. Garth

E Williams
Why is the ribbon with a pin attachment and the case surely shows two pin holes for a double pin ribbon?
E Williams
Manions were selling these for $500.00 back in the 90s until authorities came down hard on them.
E Williams
I forgot to say that it is missing the lapel Rosette. Edited January 18, 2014 by E Williams
GHB
I almost bought the full set of three in the early 90's (500 each all for 1,500) but I decided that they were all mules, . . . . Sterile. No bravery had been expended in the issuance of the medal only in the award with citation and naming on the reverse which did not exist. So I ultimately declined. If you collect types this looks as good as you/'ll get. But it really doesn't matter. Jonsey said Really cool. Well maybe but no bravery entailed so he is right it doesn't matter real or super fake this is as close to the real (awarded) thing that you can find if that is what you want.. EW raised questions about the ribbon bar. With the pin catch to the left do the stars make an "M" or a "W"? If "W" it is my understanding that you have a problem with the ribbon bar. Should be an M. KNAR questioned the case. I think there should be indentations on the sides of the pad where the ribbon goes underneath. There don't seem to me. Maybe he has other questions. Just some late random comments. GHB-1886
