Noor Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Hi all, I hope this medal clasifies as a official and is allowed to post here, especially because it is as well listed on the Medal Yearbook. My main aim is to establish is this item original piece and find out is there some specific details that I should check out with extra care. It is made from silver, without any naming's on the rim. Regarding the Medal yearbook, I presume it is later issue for officer's? Kind regards, Noor
paul wood Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Looks like a cast to me in silvered metal, I have something very similar in the fake trays.Paul
Chris Boonzaier Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Maybe the photo, but the qwuality is terrible.... usually the stuff minted in England was fantastic in quality. best Chris
peter monahan Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I agree - the real Davidson's Nile and Trafalgars were excellent in quality, even the pewter ones to ordinary seamen. Also scarce as hen's teeth of course now. Hence the incentive to fake them!
