    It could be Turkish or African, they have similar symbolizms in their medals

    I have not seen similar pieces for the Emirate. I will double check the Thies sale of 1986 which had a very large section of Bukharan to see if there was any similar there.

    Just checked,, nothing even vaguely similar. Ihave also checked the Tammann collection for Afghanistan and I think that can be safely discounted.

    The ship was set afloat on December 30, 1904

    Entered active service on May 15, 1906

    Destoyer was named after this guy ;)

    Why him?

    Because

    a) this is one impressive Emir we are taking about here

    b) he donated 1 000 000 rubles for the russian ship building :whistle:

    The text on it is hard to make out. But looks to be Afghan or possibly Iranian: something "30 years" or 20 years. Not much but every piece adds to the puzzle...
