Noor Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Hi all, Just to be sure - is this ferrous (magnetic) VOKhR cap badge from the second half of 40s? Kind Regards, Noor
JapanX Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Nope. This cap badge came from later time period. I believe this one was introduced by MVD USSR order # 612 from 18.08.65 " ...Эмблема на головных уборах Круглая выпуклая розетка из белого металла... Внутри розетки накладная звездочка из красной эмали с двумя скрещивающимися винтовками, края звездочек и винтовки - из желтого металла..." It was in use until 1978.
Noor Posted September 1, 2013 Author Posted September 1, 2013 (edited) ah crap! I paid lots of money for that (at least for me) as an earlier version and now, when I wanted to let it go, find out that it is actually much more common version Anyway, thank you for clarification and speedy replay as always! JapanX Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Come on! This is very nice cap badge. At least it is not 1982 type (has the same design but made in aluminum). P.S. 1949 type looks like enameled red star with two crossed rifles and has hummer and sickle in the middle.
Guest Rick Research Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 (edited) The steel "dome" you've got is exactly the same on the 1959 dated pumpkin orange piped officers' visor cap our Comraid JapanX just hunted down and identified: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/59253-orange-piped-1959-vokhr-officers-visor-cap/ Edited September 1, 2013 by Rick Research
JapanX Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Why do you think that your visor cap was issued (/sold by Voentorg) together with this very same cap badge (or with any cap badge at all for that matter), my dear "insider"? ;)
Guest Rick Research Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Because no other insignia has ever been on that cap--in situ. I'm looking at it, not a scan of it.
JapanX Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 And?! Why do you think that visor cap that was issued in 1959 got its cap badge the very same year? It could be in warehouse for years...
JapanX Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 As your "old timer" "comrade" kindly put it once Those who get upset over it.....please let your hearts be still. (http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/59383-i-got-something-again/) Meanwhile please download this brochure http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/files/file/50-cockades-of-ussr-1918-1990/ Then open page 36 Please pay special attention to illustrations #7 and #8 The author of this brochure (wrongly) dated your (and Noor) cap badge (#7) as 1982 cap badge. Guess this author was another 100% "insider", certainly "old timer" and maybe even "old comrade" Sincerely yours, Baffled outsider
