Jock Auld
Guys, I posted this in another forum that has recently been taken down (hacked) with no response. Having a few TR bits of wood, is KU similar to HU? I think this is a military wooden kantine type plate any thoughts? I think it has been varnished at some point. Naxos
It's a Vesperbrett (lunch cutting board) K.U. 1867 could stand for Königs-Ulanen incidently the 1. Hanovarian Ulanen Regiment was named Königs-Ulanen-Regiment in 1867:
Jock Auld
Thanks for the direction, I am near Hannover so I suppose its within boundries. I was thinking K might be Kiazerliche like H is Heers in the TR stuff but I know you guys know your stuff here (please ignore my spelling as I can't in English never mind German). Unuasual item to survive either way I think and some clown threw it in the spermull. Jock:) Edited September 21, 2013 by Jock Auld
The Prussian
Hello! I agree with Naxos. Königs-Ulanen-Rgtö.13 from Hannover. I haven´t seen a stamped Vesperbrett before. Most of the people really threw it in the rubbish, so I´m glad that this one survived! Klasse Fund!
