Sergio Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Hello Gents, what do you think about the last ribbon. Something for firemen? Thanks in advance
Cartaphilus Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Medal for the Golden Wedding of King Ludwig III and Queen Marie Therese.
Sergio Posted November 2, 2013 Author Posted November 2, 2013 Medal for the Golden Wedding of King Ludwig III and Queen Marie Therese. Thank you for the reply. But what the medal do you mean? Those two medals with the similar name, which I know, have the other ribbons
Cartaphilus Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Look at this bavarian medal bar from my collection:

Schießplatzmeister Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 (edited) The ribbon Hello Sergio: A very interesting medal group. In my opinion, the ribbon is NOT Bavarian. It is the same as the ribbon for Hessen-Darmstadt Arts and Sciences merit medals and for Hessen-Darmstadt Fire Brigade medals. It may be impossible to ever know exactly what was there originally. Perhaps our resident Hessian expert Rudi will have some ideas? Best regards, Edited November 3, 2013 by Schießplatzmeister

Schießplatzmeister Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Hello, many thanks for your reply. Here's the full ribbon Hello again Sergio: Well, that changes everything! Without the center red stripe, I do not think that it is from Hessen-Darmstadt! This is now even more of a mystery. Best regards,

Sergio Posted November 6, 2013 Author Posted November 6, 2013 Could be the Austrian (KuK) Red Cross Medal? I think it's the only possible medal I can think of... Hello Claudio, many thanks for your reply! I've thought about this austrian medal, but there is no white stripes on the sides of my ribbon,
Claudio Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Also a possibility is that this medal bar was assembled recently with new ribbons (or ribbons that would not pass a UV light test) and it's a fake, maybe coming from Austria, as they are known to be very efficient with the productions of such bars... Is there a picture of the back? C

Is there a picture of the back? C I don't see any sign of a fake. The ribbon #4 is not modern, UV - negative. Sewing looks original, one thread around the perimeter. Edited November 6, 2013 by Sergio
