Identification help pleas

Hi - I need help identifying this item pleas. Cant find it in my literature, or rather the few books I have regarding WWI.

It might be a commemorative piece as stated, have you tried checking to see if any memorial looks like this piece? Usually at the unveiling of a memorial or anniversary of a certain memorial they handed similar items out to Veterans.

Hi - cant really find anything about it, not that much WWI stuff out there compared to WWII items, but I will keep looking, I was hoping this would be the easy way ;-)

Kind of reminds me of Austrian KuK kappenabzeichen. Maybe a German unit serving on Eastern Front or Italy with Austrians adopted the idea.

The wording is very vague, usually if to do with a certain unit, event or place it would be mentioned?

Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but it seems that the legend - "zur Errinerung" (in remembrance) probably puts this in the category of some sort of veteran's badge.

Indeed... but having 14-15 dates it to 1915 or 16 I think....

Wild guessing from this realy nasty picture... Just by the shape of the Hallmark, the maker could be Storck & Sinsheimer, Hanau.

I am really sorry about the bad quality pictures, I kind of thought this would be an easy thing to identify, how ever, here is a slightly better one of the back. Stil, the makers text is very hard to see even in IRL! I am not really thinking of keeping on to it, so if some one out there is intresed, let me know!
