JapanX Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 Only one thing about this bar looks a liitle bit off This 4th class sacred treasure ... It definetely belongs to the Meiji epoch. My dating for this piece would be in the neighborhood of 1900
JapanX Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 It looks like he came from Meiji epoch (at least by these quite terrible photos) And if so, then where are our usual 1895/1900/1904-05 or at least 1914/1920 compain medals. But even more interesting is all other medals in this bar look like they belong together So, one of the possibilities will be added kite. What do you think guys?

JapanX Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 (edited) So. The last medal in the bar came from 1912 But 4th class sacred treasure came from Showa epoch (30s+ at the very least) Edited July 15, 2014 by JapanX
JapanX Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 + El Sol del Perú ?! What we have here is lower class - Caballero It was created only in 1937
JapanX Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 But the funniest thing is that once again all four medals look like they really belong together!
Ulsterman Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Outstanding! I've been buying up Japanese medal bar pictures for 2 decades and while there is enormous uniformity, sometimes there are surprises.
JapanX Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 Luckily we have an oppurtunity to examine two of these three medal bars more closely Bar with Chilean sun
JapanX Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 Tablet on reverse is not visible, but trustme guys, this sun was made by LEMAITRE & fils from RUE ST. HONORÉ 346 PARIS
JapanX Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 As I already said earlier - these four medals definitely belong together I am not so sure about orders
JapanX Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 Another pretty promising medal bar Yep. Nice, authentic bar
