filfoster
The photos and portraits are not easy to 'read'. Did the first Kaiser, Wilhelm 1, wear the crossed batons insignia of a field marshal, or rather, the insignia of a senior general (Generaloberst) with the rank of a field marshal? He is not listed in the online list of Prussian field marshals.
The Prussian
Hello! Wilhelm I became Generaloberst with the rank of a field-marshall in 1854. I don´t have any infos, if he became a "real" field-marshall too
Daniel Krause
He did not become Field Marshal. Even on his grave is a sculpture of him wearing Colonel General epaulettes. Greetings Daniel
