SimonLMoore
Just sharing some photos of my Royal Navy collection at various displays I've put on along with others up and down the country. Couple of errors here and there with the uniforms but by and large put right now. Edited September 7, 2014 by SimonLMoore
Odulf
Nice kit lay out, I particularly like the Royal Yacht hat and jumper, with the badges in white!
Mervyn Mitton
Impressive collection, Simon. Must be a lot of work carrying it all around and then having to set-up. Ask in some of the Department Stores to see if they have old display dummies you could buy. They would make it easier and catch the public attention. Mervyn Odulf - like your new Avatar - as they say in the comedies - Hello Sailor !
SimonLMoore
Thanks Odulf! Mervyn, for the moment all my travel is by train! Mannequins or dummies are definitely on the agenda for the future when I have a car. For the moment I use inflatable torso mannequins, as per the Royal Yacht uniform which work quite well. Jerry B
Excelent displays Simon. What is the helmet next to the white top visor, a tankers lid? Any chance of some detail pics of the headgear?

Any chance of some detail pics of the headgear? Sure thing once I have a working camera again! It is indeed a tankie's helmet, they were used by the RN from the '40s through the '80s early '90s. I knew the RN used them as did the Marines I think and by ground troops in NI in the 70's.
paul kennedy
Fantastic display. I does look like a lot of work, but definitely a labor of love.

DaNang1966
@ Michael R - I noticed that you are a RN collector. What period do you focus on? I collect WWII uniforms and have quite a large collection.
