Bavarian Pickelhaube

I am not a big Headgear collector. At Kassel I was sorely tempted by a fantastic Goslar Jäger Tschako, but it was out of my pricerange.... but i did find a really nice bavarian pickelhaube that was affordable, unit stamped, and in great condition...

Only thing missing was the spike, but at about the time this one came out, they were often worn without the spike, and inspite of seeing copy spikes in Kassel, i am sure one day an orriginal will turn up....

The helmet next to mine is also a Bavarian pickelhaube. ........missing his "pickel"!

In fact missing a busch...

It is a helmet for paramilitary, something in the order of dad's army or our Belgian counterpart "Garde Civique".
