Jock Auld Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Guys, These two are nice as well, no awards etc but two clear pictures of two young lads. Jock
hucks216 Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Nice clear images. The GD soldier has the look of a young Matt Damon about him!
LarryT Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Nice portraits Jock. Is the GD cuff band crudely hand-sewn on. I have a GD portrait which shows the soldier in almost exactly the same pose. His cuff band is also crudely sewn on. Cheers, Larry
Jock Auld Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 Larry, It looks like it is hand stiched from the top part anyway. I also noticed a 4 Coy button on his shoulder now that I have zoomed in, amazing what you miss in a hurry! jock
LarryT Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Hi Jock, Here is my portrait with hand-sewn cuff band. Cheers, Larry
Jock Auld Posted December 10, 2014 Author Posted December 10, 2014 Very interesting Larry! If either of these jackets turned up today the 'mob' would say they had been upgraded no doubt, just goes to show! Jock

Jock I agree. I believe the GD Cuff title was introduced in 1944 so late war portraits. It is possible that both men have had their cuff titles quickly sewn on before posing for the camera. Anyway, good clear photos of GD cuff titles and board cyphers are hard to find so congrats on a nice portrait. Cheers, Larry
