Chris Boonzaier Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Hi, this cross has no ring stamp but a W on the eyelet. Have had a few of those.... was Wagner the only one to stamp the eyelet? Were they the early pieces before they realised the Ring was meant? Thanks Chris
Tony Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 I have one too but can't work out what the mark is, it's possibly 3 or 4 digits over almost half of the eyelet but I can't get a good photo or find my loupe. Below is a pic of the cross, I've no idea who made it, perhaps you or someone else can tell from the characteristics. Tony
Chris Boonzaier Posted November 29, 2015 Author Posted November 29, 2015 Hi ixhs, you are right, it says "we" ... I had trouble recognising the last bit of the stamp.
Tony Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Found my loupe and took some photos. Mine is also stamped we but there's something else that looks like a K on its side or perhaps it's just a dig on the eyelet?
ixhs Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 (edited) There are some We pieces which are also stamped with a sign which looks like a "Eichel". Edited December 5, 2015 by ixhs
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 5, 2015 Author Posted December 5, 2015 Hi Tony, how did you get such nice photos??

The Eichel has different meanings in German, I think we'll opt for it being an acorn on some eyelets 1 hour ago, Chris Boonzaier said: Hi Tony, how did you get such nice photos?? Chris, I used a printers loupe and a cheap Windows phone that according to all reports has the worst phone camera out there.
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 5, 2015 Author Posted December 5, 2015 I hate it when a printers loupe and cheap phone get better results than me!
Uffz. Rohleder Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 I never know that EK's could be stamped there O.O I must look on nearly all my WW1 EK II now Thanks for showing!
