Chris Boonzaier Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Does anyone see where the error is? :-) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/German-original-Leibstandarte-death-card-iron-cross-medal-winter-medal-in-box-/151898349323?hash=item235dd8df0b%3Ag%3A8kIAAOSwHQ9WWMB7 Its pretty basic....
Great Dane Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 The name on the death card seems to be Oskar Kraus, not "Ostar" as stated on the (fake?) case... /Michael
Paul R Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 The box engraving was either done yesterday or photoshopped. Also, the name is misspelled, as stated above.
Brian R Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 The EK2 ribbon is fake and it appears, at one time, the SS collar tabs were artificially added to that image.
Great Dane Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 I suspect that someone took a genuine death card (it doesn't look manipulated to me, but it's hard to tell) and decided to 'dress it up' before selling it on. Unfortunately that same someone couldn't read fracture script very well, so got the name wrong on the fabricated case. Any research on Ostar Kraus obviously came out with nothing, hence the very generic description of what the regiment was doing. /Mike
Great Dane Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Pulled from Ebay by the seller due to "an error in the listing"... /Mike
