hucks216 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 He was awarded the KvK II KL mit Schwertern on 1st September 1943. Why he won it is anyone's guess unfortunately. It could of been for a piece of good leadership or a meritorious action behind the lines. It could even be a 'percentage' award in that the unit was to award a certain number and he was deemed worthy of being one of those chosen.
edwina Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 Thank you can you see the 3 lines under ausbildung.
hucks216 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 (edited) The first one looks like a driving licence entry. The second one shows that he is a motorcycle dispatch rider and the third shows 'Gewehrführer' which is a leader of a heavy MG team, hence his training on the MG-42 with Lafette. hucks216 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 (edited) (geb.) AOK 20 means 20.Gebirgs-Armee - See here... 20.Gebirgs-Armee Page 12 in the Wehrpass and Pages 4 & 17 in the Soldbuch will show what units he served in with the entries in the Wehrpass also showing the time frames he served in each one. He spent time in hospital with the condition of Mittelohrentzündung - inflammation of the middle ear (must of edited at the same time as Andreas was typing) Edited February 14, 2016 by hucks216
dedehansen Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Mittelohrentzündung = infection of the middle ear Regards Andreas
edwina Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 Thank here is page 12 and 4,17 I have two more question
edwina Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 The last, and thanks for all the help. A photo of Daub few years later. It was interesting with ear infection, it is like he had 12.242-24.3.42 and 01/12/45 to 04/05/45. On page 26, what's officers who signed his 9:11:44 sturmabzeichen? Greetings Edwina Try more photos later
hucks216 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 It is the same officer who has signed on the opposite page. Unfortunately it is a lowly Leutnant and only in temporary command of the Kompanie so unless he achieved something like a high award the chances of finding out any details about him is going to be remote I'm afraid.
edwina Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 I understand, really interesting Edwina
