Stuka f Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Doing some research for a French forum friend, regarding Carlos Boyeldieu d'Auvigny who was in 3e Régiment étranger d'infanterie . What is he doing in a Polish uniform with a German bajo? Any help appreciated. cheers |<ris
Odulf Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Possibly one of the French soldiers supervising the plesbecite and/or other border corrections in the period 1919-1924 in Western Poland. Note the (French) medal for Upper-Silezia (1920-1923). Probably the photographer's studio had some props to dress him up.
Stuka f Posted June 21, 2016 Author Posted June 21, 2016 Thanks for your reply Odulf! But the medal he is wearing is a french CdG....
TacHel Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Complete shot in the dark here... Could he have possibly been attached to Sikorski's Army in 39-40? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_Army_in_France_(1939–40)
ccj Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Looks like a polish legion in France NCO who became a a French Legionnaire
