Gilles Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Could be Freikorps, compare with the badge of the "Freie Nachrichten-Truppen" shown in Ingo Haarcke's reference book #621.1 page 106
dante Posted October 23, 2016 Author Posted October 23, 2016 Thanks Gilles, this is the reverse of the picture
The Prussian Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Hel,lo! Freikorps doesn´t match with the date... Maybe someone speaks polish to translate? But probably he wrote only something private. (Papierusse means cigarettes, as far as I know...)
dante Posted October 24, 2016 Author Posted October 24, 2016 (edited) Just a thought what insignia did the German Polnische Wehrmacht wear from 1917-19 ? Edited October 24, 2016 by dante
Bayern Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 The adress is in german , the receiver appears to be a guy named kasimierz serving in the 356 infantry regiment I st batallion 1st Coy , perhaps the same unit of the guy who envoyed the postcard . The Army of the Kingdom of Poland created in 1917 used german uniforms and insignias for infantry . with polish details . but not was really a proper Army .

bolewts58 Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 I just saw a clearer picture of this arm-badge posted on WAF and it turns out to be some hitherto unknown MGSS badge substituting an MG08/15 light machinegun for the standard MG08.
The Prussian Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 Hello! Yes, it´s a MG08/15. It´s probably an inofficial badge. I´ve seen it a few times before. A rare photo! Congrats! 1
