Chris Boonzaier Posted November 25, 2016 Posted November 25, 2016 I recently picked this up... I assume it is a Garde officer of some sort?
The Prussian Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Hi Chris! The facts: Major, white Garde-Litzen, prussian buttons, swedish cuffs, spiked helmet (no artillery), non-white base underneath the collar-Litzen. (red, yellow or maybe blue) I can´t recognize something upon the shoulder boards. The sword could be a cavalry-officer-sword. What about the 2nd cross? Ribbon maybe red-white-red = Hanseatic Cross of Bremen? (Just a guess) I´d say: A Major of Garde-Train-Bataillon (i.e. one of the units, which were set-up by the Garde-Train)
Bayern Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Hello : He is not an infantryman nor a granadier , he carries a sabre and not the typical m1889 Degen . artilleryman is not because of his pointed helmet . so a Train officer is the most probable .
