    Bullion "Column" Dress Tunic Collar Tabs

    The usual form of officer's dress tab was METAL in "mock bullion"--

    So I was very happy to get these in today--

    On top, M1947 civil police (Militia) senior officers (Major to Colonel)

    On bottom, M1943 infantry junior officers (Junior Lieutenant to Captain)

    these are on stiff fiber card type backings which prevented Fashion Malfunctions such as

    I have never seen these before! The use must have been short lived! What were the years of use?

    Army and naval ground/air forces theoretically 1943, but really 1945, to 1955 (air forces and armor only to 1949). Police 1947-58.

    You'll see quite a few in the personnel and "bad haircuts" photographs threads in the dim dark pages.
