Tobias Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Hello Gentlemen, here are my East German Forestry Uniforms from the 80s.
Bayern Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Very interesting , with a neat 3rd Reich flavor , Hermann Goering , loved to use the same hat showed ,the Loden cape too .
Tobias Posted August 29, 2017 Author Posted August 29, 2017 Today I'm going to show you the direct comparison of a Gubener GDR hunting hat and a WWII "Reichsforsthut" with emblems from shortly after the war. The "Waldbluse" corresponds to the same pattern as the WWII model and was used in this until 1990. The breeches were held in mouse grey, but also the stone grey of the NVA was used. The shaft boots had no heels. Bye, Tobias
Bayern Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 Tobias : Thanks you for share . I thinks that the boots without heel were less noisy walking into the forest.
Gordon Craig Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 Tobias, Very nice uniform collection. First time that I have seen the boots. The two coats are very interesting as well. Regards, Gordon
Chris Boonzaier Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 19 hours ago, Bayern said: Tobias : Thanks you for share . I thinks that the boots without heel were less noisy walking into the forest. Yeah, but I bet slipping on your ass happened a few times a day when the ground was wet!!!
Bayern Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Yes , indeed . and the ground into forests tended to be wet .But the Germans used to like very much the western books of Karl May (1842 1912 ) and admired the Old Shatterhand and his friend the Winnetou chief.generations grew familiarized with explorers and indians reigning in the woods and mountains . as the fish in the pond , quietly , almost furtively , chasing game or hunters . the sole of the boots is very like that of a indian mocassin . The Maymania of the Germans was extended . Hitler yes , was a fan of Karl May . is recorded that during High Command sessions the Fuhrer recomended to his officers the lecture of Karl May with the goal of learn tactics.
Tobias Posted September 3, 2017 Author Posted September 3, 2017 Hello Gentlemen! The forestry uniforms have been adjusted ever since the 30s to the Luftwaffe. Airblaster = Forestbluse just in the green version. This was the same after WW2 in the GDR, too. The GDR parachutists had no heels on their boots either. Much is based on tradition, too. Bye, Tobias
