Farkas Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 Hi Gents A suspiciously resourceful eBay seller likes to list his 'original' wound badge then coupla days later happens to have a copy certificate too - listed as such mind - by coincidence! i guess someone sells copies together with certs... Chris, I hope you don't mind me chipping in with this too.... i googled a makers stamp today and found these reproductions for sale. What chance have we got when the companies themselves churn out perfect copies already fraudulently stamped. Im sick of seeing these for sale - particularly the feldmutze - and them getting sold for big bucks..., thought I'd share these ones tony
Chris Boonzaier Posted November 17, 2017 Author Posted November 17, 2017 I wonder if the Erel hats are really exactly the same or made for reenactor quality?
Farkas Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 Morning Chris I bet they disappoint shall we say tony
ErwinZ Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 I bought an 'EREL' cap for my photography trips. I'm no collector but I can assure those caps are unmistakably reproductions. For instance the label thingy is woven into the cap. So far what I have seen that company is very open to the fact they deal in reproductions. In my opinion their price is fair. Any custom made cap with those materials will also set you back that amount. Before the 'EREL' I tried an 'el cheapo' unbranded version of the same model. The size wasn't correct, the visor was not attached in the middle, the wool was of synthetic quality and the seems were average. It ended up in the garbage bin. So yeah my conclusion is that the 'EREL' caps are reenact quality. Any buyer thinking he bought an original should really scratch behind his own ears in this case.

If nothing else, that would be a red flag.

Jup, that is the 1st thing that jumps out, but there are 4-5 errors. The same guy used to do EK2 docs to the same regt. I had Mailed the seller and he cancelled the auction.
