GreyC Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Hi, the first card is a plea for money and/or food to parents and siblings. He lacks both and writes that he is hungry. 2nd card is also about money. The father had sent his son 20 marks for which he thanks him. The rest is about health status of different family members. 3rd card informs addressee that sender got home well and that he has to do a lot of military exercices, apart from that no news. GreyC

GreyC Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 (edited) Pleasure! It´s interesting how one design seems to have sold over many years. That speaks either for a popular design or lack of choice for the customers. GreyC Edited November 28, 2018 by GreyC
Farkas Posted November 28, 2018 Author Posted November 28, 2018 Certainly the same template... 6 hours ago, GreyC said: Pleasure! It´s interesting how one design seems to have sold over many years. GreyC Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Hi, would like to see that. Usually Regimentskarten bear the number of the specific regiment which makes them a Regimentskarte in the first place. GreyC

GreyC Dated 24-10-1911 Stamped ‘Strassburg’ Field Artillery Regiment 10 F.A.R. 10. The detail at the top of the card is largely embossed-swords, wreath, shields and Kaiser are all embossed. ——-///-/////:———- and the next one.... Stamped 21-10-1913 in Harburg (I think) or Marburg? marked as : 9 Pioneer Batt. 3kompagnie, On this card the 3 is the only embossing. It is pressed into a metallic disc added separately but prior to embossing. Some of the leaves and the acorn have been hand coloured gold. tony

Farkas Posted December 28, 2018 Author Posted December 28, 2018 Hi Gents This is another ‘Regimental Card’ . Sadly it has been ‘cut down’/‘trimmed’ .., probably to fit in an album. Of the “ 15th Mein Bataillon “ - I presume pioneers? Dated: March 1912. and an older (surely) Artillery related card no longer datable.... tony
