The Prussian
Hi Chris! Prussian helmet and Hessian buckle... Why? No idea. Probably a Landwehr man. He took, what he´s got...
Bayern
Hello , The Prussian observes well . but there is something else , the helmet is a felt made one but with bright brass eagle, and our man looks as if some other had just put on his head the helmet and somewhat crossed , finally ,appears as if the waffenrock had no shoulder boards. Chip
I've seen several examples of this happening and I thought it might have something to do with the fact that Kurhessen troops wore Prussian heraldry and that Hessen was caught short of supplies during the expansion of the army in 1914/15.
