1812 Overture Posted February 17, 2019 Posted February 17, 2019 Gentlemen, I won this medal by chance during the Chinese New Year. I only know that he is Saxony, maybe it is the Saxon-Coburg-Godda Principality? Because I turned over the information I could find, there was only a medal similar to me on Emedal. So I want to ask everyone to help me see, this is the medal of the period, I have never seen him in the order bar. It is large and heavy. Is this privately cast? Please tell us what you think, thank you. I quietly called him "Saxon Cookies"

So is this medal rare? Do you know the price?
Beau Newman Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 These early merit medals of the Ernestine Order are pretty scarce (probably just a few dozen awarded for many of them). However, the collector demand isn't that strong. The current OEK has it at 530 Euros.
VtwinVince Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 Correct, that is a scarce one, and it appears to be an award piece with the Stempelschneider's name.

I also saw this book, but he only sent Germany. I have found that sellers in Germany and Austria often only send their own country, and although I like them the most, their service attitude often makes me sad. On the contrary, Slovenia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, the former Austrian-Hungarian constituent countries have a much better service attitude, and there are very few cases where there is no reply to the mail.
