Alex K Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 Hi all, just a bit of expertise and advice, seen the attached for sale, for it's age it looks in remarkably mint condition, is it what it seems or is it a well made modern copy? any comments appreciated regards Alex K
Elmar Lang Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 Hello, I don't see anything suspicious with this set. Best wishes, E. L.
Alex K Posted January 7, 2020 Author Posted January 7, 2020 Hello Elmar thanks for the comments, it's not often you see items in such a well preserved condition after such a length of time, particularly the outer case. regards Alex K
Ian Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Alex, I am a bit late to the question, but I agree that there is nothing wrong - medal and ribbon are a nice snug fit. Indeed I have a similar medal in a very similar condition together with its case and I have never doubted mine. Regards, Ian
Utgardloki Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 (edited) I also have a set in a comparable condition. Is there a number how many of these G.A. Scheid pieces were made? Edited January 7, 2020 by Utgardloki
Ian Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 As for the number manufactured by G.A. Scheid I would hazard a guess and say in the hundreds, but I have no real idea sorry. Others who are more knowledgeable than me may have a better 'ball park' figure. Regards, Ian
Alex K Posted January 9, 2020 Author Posted January 9, 2020 Just for the record, a modern copy currently available for comparison
