Bavarian Copper buckle?

Hi, this is probably a pre war private purchase... but looks to be copper! Anyone seen anything like this before?

I saw a lot of belt buckles but never one made of pure copper . Pure copper is most expensive than brass and softer .

Maybe there is just a higher than average copper % in the buckle, I guess I should polish a part on the back.

It's called Tombak, an alloy with a higher copper content than brass. Quite popular for private purchase army buckles, especially Prussian and Württemberg. In my experience not often seen on Bavarian buckles.
