Rare box for EK1with inscription 1914/15

Hi everybody

I have this box since several years and it is this weekend I have taken photos and see that the inscription has the date 1914/15. What do you think about it ? Thanks for your comment. I show only the box, I have the cross to go with it.

No problems with that, I have had a couple of old beaters... I assume they were made in 1915

i have two of these cases, one with light blue interior and one with purple interior. both have "super-deluxe" high quality crosses in them. i will post images this weekend

I knew I still had one somewhere... My thought is that some clever case maker thought it was going to be a 14-15 war... and made these... and on 31 December 1915 he thought "Bugger!" ... and on the 1st of jan 1916 he was making plain 1914 ones again... I cannot say which cross came with it... mixing and matching has been order of the day since the first collector got his hands on 2 cased crosses... mine is also blue velvet

i finally got around to the two that i have, and i lied...the crosses are not "super deluxe" but they are super nice indeed!

the first one with the blue lining is a heavily vaulted .935er (behind pin) and is superb---note the finishing of the pin

 

here is the one with a purple lining---early flat cast core k.a.g. cross
