Mark M
PaulI don't know if this will help you or not since you asked for infantry regiments. The Czar was honorary C&C of the 8th Hussar Regiment and the Czarina the honorary C&C of the 2nd Garde Dragoons. Glenn J
Paul,he was the Chef of the:Kaiser Alexander Garde-Grenadier-Regiment Nr. 1K?rassier-Regiment Kaiser Nikolaus I. von Ru?land (Brandenb.) Nr. 6Husaren-Regiment Kaiser Nikolaus II. von Ru?land (1. Westf?l.) Nr. 8and Inhaber of the Leib-Dragoner-Regiment (2. Gro?herzogl. Hess.) Nr. 241. Chevaulegers-Regiment Kaiser Nikolaus von Ru?land so it would appear the only infantry regiment was the Kaiser Alexander Garde-Grenadier-Regiment Nr. 1.RegardsGlenn

Chip
Glenn,What, in definition, is the difference between Chef and Inhaber?Chip
Claudio
Well in German Inhaber means Owner. Logically thinking if your an owner of a regiment, that regiment receives your name because you own it. Chef is the commander of the unit. One Senior General/GFM or member of the Royal family could have been made commander as honoray title, but still is not the owner of the regiment and the regiment doesn't bear his name. These are all assumptions of mine... are they correct?Ciao,Claudio
