EK 1939 EK2 and EK1 on the same day

I thought I could share my group with you before it's gone

The soldier N?gler did some serious fighting at Isjum in Ukraine, October 1943, and got both the EK2 and EK1. He survived the war and was out of his last hospital treatment 9th of May 1945.

If you look at the scanned soldbuch pictures he have had these wounds:

Three times 9 = Malaria

One time 19 = "Other breathing organ complaints Excluding TB"

Two times 34 = "Accident or self mutilation"

One time 13 = VD

For his last wound there is no number.

Did one get the wound bag automatically or did one have to apply for it?
