bigjarofwasps Posted December 6, 2022 Author Share Posted December 6, 2022 Given that the LSGC was introduced in 1951, to officers who have the requisite amount of service. I suspect that Gv1R LSGC’s to very senior officers, could thus potentially be relatively common, as they could potentially be in their 29 or 30 years of service by the time it came into being. I would also assume that the rank on their medal would be that at the time the medal was instituted, as apposed to the rank they had achieved on their 22nd year? Where as examples to very senior officers with regards to the E11R version would be far rarer (if exist at all?). Any thoughts? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Dave Wilkinson Posted December 7, 2022 Share Posted December 7, 2022 I think I've mentioned this previously, but the Commissioner of Met., Sir Mark Rowley was awarded his PLSM whilst in post as Chief Constable of Surrey and his medal is named accordingly with the prefix.
