Igor Ostapenko Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 Queens of another states receive orders with brilliants . were simple women awarded the order ? I find few women with silver cross of order
Igor Ostapenko Posted November 29, 2021 Author Posted November 29, 2021 Anybody have roll of awarding St. Alexander order 1881-1908 ? these two orders came from the same house
Graf Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Hi Igor, What do you mean "these two orders came from the same house"? Were they awarded to the same person? ..or anything else. I know the history of the early Order of St Alexander. It was offered to me twice by two different sellers before you got a hold of it
Graf Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Hi New World, I assumed the same, however Igor has to clarify. Also, I can not see the connection of this post with the topic
Igor Ostapenko Posted December 12, 2021 Author Posted December 12, 2021 These two orders from one seller seller try to sell order of merit in 2016, but … Item not sold 3 hours ago, Graf said: I can not see the connection of this post with the topic May be this part for badge for ladies ?
Graf Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Hi Igor, It could be for ladies We need to explore further 4 hours ago, Igor Ostapenko said: May be this part for badge for ladies ?
new world Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Quote Igor, just because these awards were sold by the same dealer does not mean they belonged to the same person. I am not sure how these medals are connected, I see no mention of it in the listings.
Graf Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Hi New World, Perhaps Igor means something else Let's him clarify his point As far i can comprehend his main point is whether the Order of St Alexander was awarded to ladies with special for ladies attachments and ribbons I do not know this answer and Igor might get more hints to solve this mystery Cheers
Igor Ostapenko Posted December 14, 2021 Author Posted December 14, 2021 Princess with order St. Alexander
Graf Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 Hi Igor, You are on the right track Nice find 1
new world Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 Well, yes this photo could lead somewhere, but you also have to keep in mind that members of royal family had means to have any type of a ribbon made specifically for them. Just because a princes wore something in certain fashion does not mean it was a common practice. I would focus my efforts on finding examples for wearing such crosses by people outside of royal family and high nobility.
Igor Ostapenko Posted December 16, 2021 Author Posted December 16, 2021 (edited) In my first post, I gave an example of the awarding of three women, one was awarded the cross with swords over the cross in 1913 and two Romanian women from the palace service in Romania in 1934 ( all - order VI class ) Edited December 16, 2021 by Igor Ostapenko
Graf Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 Hi Igor, Now we have to find photos or/and Documents to support your Topic Cheers
Igor Ostapenko Posted December 16, 2021 Author Posted December 16, 2021 Hi Peter, when the time comes I will re-read the list of awardees again. but I only have access to the list from 1908 to 1938. I'm looking for a list from 1881 to 1908
