graham
Has it got any markings on the ring? Also I cannot make out whether it has a red enamel inner liner or not. I am also a bit concerned with the date.

tifes
Hi, I just see Silver Merit Cross with the Crown. It looks like WW1 version. Thousands of them were made and there were many variants, however this one looks pretty common to me. Regards, Tifes

Elmar Lang
Hello, as stated in the other place where you've posted the pictures of this Silbernes Verdienstkreuz mit der Krone, I don't see anything alarming with it. It is not a rare award, but yes, there are fakes of it too, ranging from a poor to a disgusting quality. Not the case of this one, that has all the qualities to be a piece made prior to 1918. Best wishes, E.L.
graham
Elmar, Do you know who the manufacturer would be of this piece?

v.Perlet
Could be R.S. for Rudolf Souval, Wien or e.g. Wilh. Kunz, Wien V. Meyers Söhne, Wien But since yours unfortunately isn't marked - it wont help you much Try this page: https://tompress.shop/en/produkt/austria-hungary-gold-cross-of-merit-sign-wilh-kunz-2/ Regards v.Perlet
