Lukasz Gaszewski Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 A contemporary replica, modelled on the 1919 type. Most originals had the award number on reverse. The ribbon is new as well. Original ribbons were in a deeper shade of blue and narrower (ca. 35 mm). Bet this one is ca. 40 mm. wide.
TJLA Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 This is a Panasiuk version and made well after WWII. Several ways to tell authenticity is it needs to have a number, there are small amounts made with units in exile and jewelers copies without the number. But the eagle center, that's how Panasiuk makes them and each jeweler makes the eagle center just slightly different but enough to note who is who. There are a few other give aways with this medal being a Panasiuk. I highly advise Wojciech Stela's "Virtuti Militari Vol V Part 1" (page 129) also War Relics EU has a massive Virtuti Militari thread.
