1812 Overture Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 Can anyone tell me why the owner of this bar didn't get a World War I commemorative medal from the Austrian or Hungarian government?

I wondered the same thing ? guess he did not have the cash ? i thought it was a neat little bar.
Christian1962 Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 You should not forget that it could have been a kind of political statement. There were some people who did not come in for the Austrian medal because they denied the Austrian government, esp. illegal nationalsocialists. Others denied to mount the Austrian medal after 1938 because of opportunism. Regards Christian 1
