Coldstream Guards Sun Helmet - authentic?

Not sure if it's authentic and what period it is.

helmet is post WWII bandsmans type for marines etc & the badge looks a bit poorly struck for guards use imo

I would look behind the badge to see if there is a shadow that matches it. If so, pretty likely to have been there a while. If some other shadow then a put-together most likely.

It is good idea only if the helmet is in the hands of JeffV Otherwise the dealer/seller could be reluctant  to do it is something is not OK
