Megan Posted February 19 Posted February 19 A sad loss indeed. Medals are no consolation, yet show what his sacrifice meant to the nation on whose behalf he fought, by his own choice. If only Russia had not invaded Ukraine, such tragedies would not have happened. So many lives could still be being lived, Ukrainian and Russian alike as well as those who stepped up to support a sovereign nation in the face of aggression. 2
Rocket Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Andrew's Ukrainian "For Our and Your Freedom" medal arrived in the mail today. I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed though. Instead of the medal coming in the standard case with the small certificate booklet inside, they sublimated the certifcate onto a wooden plaque and glued the medal to the plaque. Thankfully, they didn't use permanent glue so the medal can be removed. As you can see, the back of the medal has his name engraved. Oh well...my wife and I are just happy to have finally received the medal. John 2
Ura87 Posted March 17 Author Posted March 17 Medal of the Dnipro City Council "Defender of the Fatherland". I published an award with the same name from the Dnipro City Council earlier, I don't know, maybe they changed the design, I don't know. Both medals are still awarded, at least until the end of 2024: https://dnipro.tv/news-dnipro/dnipro-vruchyv-medali-zakhysnyk-vitchyzny-rodynam-polehlykh-heroiv-u-pamiat-pro-ikhni-podvyhy/

Ura87 Posted Friday at 12:38 Author Posted Friday at 12:38 The project of the Rivne Regional Council award "Klym Savur Cross". "The regional council award will be awarded to representatives of the security services and formations that defend the country, to volunteers who have contributed to strengthening the defense capability of the state. It will be awarded primarily to residents of the Rivne region. But, as an exception, for good reason, it may be people from other regions, as well as foreigners.": https://ror.gov.ua/novyny/hrest-klima-savura-novu-nagorodu-hochut-zaprovaditi-na-rivne-1742450668
