BlackcowboyBS Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 Hi, I would like to show you an IC2 from the royal mint in Stuttgart, at least this is, what the mark in the ring indicates. I am not sure, if we have seen this mark here before.
Peter Cornwell Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 Nette Stuck. Several IC2 KM ring stamps have appeared over the years I have been filing images. Of course, that doesn't make any of them 'right' but they certainly look OK in the photos. Also, listed as a known stamp on 1914 IC2s by BOWEN. NIce find.
Peter Cornwell Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 Just realised I also have one in my own collection. Images attached for core comparison etc.
Graf Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 I used to have EK2 stamped KM and 800 Sadly sold to fellow collector. As far as i remember the reverse side of the iron core was a bit vaulted . not a flat as the the obverse The quality of the core and its finish was excellent
Peter Cornwell Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 A 1914 EK11 'KM' also in the Max AURICH collection as cited (C31) by HEYDE. And, as you would expect, another example appears as T193 in WERNITZ & SIMONS from an 'unknown maker'. It seems they are to be found everywhere.
