I have to agree with VtwinVince, there is much fakery around these sword orders. But I can't say anything about your piece, so I am interessted to listen to the professional prussian collectors.

OK, it could be a period Spangenstueck or a genuine 4th class which has been pimped up, but it certainly is not an award piece.
