DavidM Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 HelloI've just recieved this early Junckers marked Luftwaffe pilots badge. The scans of it just don't do it justice. In the hand it is really, really nice. I've given it good examination and as far as I can tell it's ok and original. However this is the first one of these that I have purchased, and although I have read up on these, both here in the forums and in reference books, your comments and observations will warmly welcomed.Oh, the blue thing in the scans is a plastic 'security / ID' tag that the dealer has put on it. Many thanks.
DavidM Posted May 3, 2006 Author Posted May 3, 2006 Close in of maker mark, (sorry it's blurred but the best I could with my loop and camera !!)
J Temple-West Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Good morning, DavidLooks like you've picked up a nice example of a 3rd pattern "Juncker" for your first PB. Congratulations. Beware! These Luftwaffe badges tend to become addictive and should carry a health warning.
Dave B Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 JTW is right,Luftwaffe badges are extremely addictive...trust me I know Nice badge btw Dave
Bryan Poon Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Nice one.Junckers' badges, collector's choice!!!Cheers
DavidM Posted May 5, 2006 Author Posted May 5, 2006 HelloThanks to all for their positive responses. I agree, the Luftwaffe badges and awards are some of the best Third Reich items around. Mind you, after seeing the cost of some of the Luftwaffe stuff, my wife is trying to steer me back towards WW1 EK1s and 2s !!
