Jock Auld Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 BRS, Guys, out the skip today, a lot of TR stuff but this is more your thing, a complete families history skipped. Sadly some of it is has already been pushed by the JCB and is now irretrievable. Best Rich 1
saschaw Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 I'm not too good at comparing faces, but it might be Generalmajor a. D. Adolf Steinwachs (1868–1945) who has been shown here. I also added one photo with all of his medals that was sold on ebay years ago, and in which he wears a most similar mustache... 2
Jock Auld Posted September 3, 2023 Author Posted September 3, 2023 Thanks for the comparison, I don't know not really my area, I think your bloke has more sticky out ears. I am just miffed as I don't know what else was destroyed.. Cheers Rich
Stogieman Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 I think Saschaw nailed it, looks like the same guy to me
Glenn J Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Gentlemen, the general is Karl Berger (1858-1936), a pre war pioneer and railway regiment officer. He ultimately rose to the command of the 119. Infanterie-Division and was promoted to char. Generalleutnant on 30 August 1919. Regards Glenn
Jock Auld Posted November 17, 2023 Author Posted November 17, 2023 Thanks Glen, It was the ears that stuck out for me. I suppose he is local to my area here in Bergen 29303? Or is the picture perhaps from wider family? Hope you are keeping well. Best Rich
