Linasl
Hello. I am a collector and an occasional seller. I have an opportunity to buy a pair of wings purported to be for a Free French Paratrooper during WWII. I only have one photo as this is all the German auction house provides. Given the one photo, does it look authentic? Were there even Free French paratroopers? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. Linas

Linas Hi Linas, this badge was a new one to me and I can’t vouch for originality but there were free French paratroopers and this was a design used by them as a beret badge. The badge they used was a British parachute regiment badge with the crown ‘cut off’, literally in most cases. but it seems some were officially issued, on the one below the emblem is also attached, the back plate has a serial number. These are considered rare even the ‘home made’ ones without the symbol on them. Personally, I like it, unless it is stupid money it must be worth a punt 😊 cheers tony 🍻
