Von Thronstahl
This medal bar was recently sold. I was tempted to bid cause I collect Austro-Hungarian medals but I was not sure if Albert cross is original. Also not sure about originality of medal bar. Can you tell me is this Albert cross original and if yes, what do you think of medal bar.

Stogieman
Good Morning, based on precedence I would say the Albert Cross is incorrect for the bar. Being before the HK I would expect something with swords, an Albert cross or Albert Knight with swords. The Albert Cross on the bar has a reverse center I have never seen before and I am unsure as to authenticity of this piece. Having said this, the construction and precedence of the bar looks correct for post 1934 to me. An interesting combination of Austrian awards.
VtwinVince
That's a pretty weird combo. Allegedly an Austrian, with one Saxon award. A HK but no corresponding Austrian WW1 commemorative. A Karl Troop Cross with a Signum Memoriae. And where is the reverse medallion for the AK?
Farkas
Hi Gents, just a thought.., would the bar make sense if the final ribbon was an Austrian commemorative medal? As it is now, a military 1898 ribbon a civilian 1908 ribbon doesn’t make as much sense. The 1898 military ribbon Officially 5mm red stripe and 3mm (thinner) white edge 👆 This is wrong, the 2 have even width 👇 I’m tempted to say it’s this ribbon mounted incorrectly 👇 So then it would be Austrian 1914-18 civilian 1908 jubilee KTK German 1914-18 & Albert cross * I agree the Albert Cross seems out of place, I’d expect an Austrian bronze bravery medal there more often than not. Maybe an Iron Cross even if not for the 1908 indicating Austrian. If you learned Gents are doubting the AC itself as well as it’s presence… it’s probably been swapped in. & Maybe the Austrian 14-18 ribbon got messed with at the same time 🤷♂️ cheers tony 🍻
VtwinVince
Hard to say. The gapping of the ribbons is not even, and it is pretty easy to mess with this type of bar.
