Yang Chuyu Posted November 2 Posted November 2 I have seen Paja's picture about the classification of Order of Merits for the People. However, this type of order which has a special needle isn't included in the picture. Unfortunately, I haven't clear photo. 1
new world Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Many awards were converted by removing screw post and replacing it with a pin. You can see remains of screw post in the center. It was driven by practical consideration, as people didn't want to damage their clothes by making a hole in them. Screw post attachment was practical during war time and was quite secure to assure that you don't lose the medal, but as the was ended people started to care about nice clothes.
El Ninja Posted November 6 Posted November 6 There are several types of pins on Yugoslavian orders. Pin with a simple hook catch, pin with a pull-out catch (in the photo), and pin with a rotating catch. All types could be mounted vertically or horizontally. Those were mounted on orders by the manufacturers, either originally, either after the screws were cut off. Then, there are many types of pins that were mounted unofficially, as new world said above, to reduce the damage to the clothes. Those wary wildly, so any classification is impossible.
